This meetup is designed to support the Tiziano Project, a non-profit organization which teaches people in conflict- and post-conflict regions of the world how to be journalists and giving them the tools they need to succeed. These aspiring journalists not only learn the art and craft of journalism, they also teach others to become journalists and create a sustainable income for themselves, their families and their communities.

Andrew McGregor, Executive Director of the Tiziano Project, recently traveled to Rwanda and educated 40 locals to become journalists, thus telling the Rwandan story while lifting those desperately in need out of poverty. McGregor plans to travel to Iraqi Kurdistan, Chechnya and other East African countries.

None of this is cheap, however, and so we hope to raise awareness of the Project to anyone in the LA area who is interested in volunteering their time and skills to the project. Please join us!
