Parent Education Yolo County

Are you looking for an inspiring community project that will benefit children, parents, and families in Yolo County? We are a small group of volunteers looking for other volunteers AND a dedicated volunteer coordinator. We are developing an organization that will serve as a clearinghouse for information about parent education classes and workshops offered in Yolo County. Currently, it is difficult for parents, social workers, and others to find out about parenting classes in Yolo County. We want to make parent education classes well known to anyone in Yolo County. Our work could help open the door to many families in accessing healthy and loving relationships and in preventing child abuse! We intend to survey all county organizations, agencies, and groups that provide parent education to find out who is offering what. We look to creating newsletters, a website, and other types of outreach to let people know when and where classes are held. We want to make our information user friendly for people of all cultures and languages in our county. Once up and running, our organization could look at many other goals.
